Capture the Entire Scene with Dahua Full-Color 180° Panoramic Dual-Lens Cameras

Imagine you're walking on a busy street at night and suddenly hear loud shouting, followed by a huge commotion. Out of the corner of your eye, an incident has just occurred. You probably heard some noise and saw bits and pieces. However, chances are you can't remember every detail of what happened based on your visual field and simple memory. After all, it was dark.

This is essentially the same dilemma many institutions face today with their traditional security surveillance. There may be cameras in the area, but not enough to cover large-scale scenarios. Larger areas usually require more cameras, leading to high deployment costs that many of us can't afford. In dark conditions or at night, the images captured by traditional cameras are usually only dull black and white; "recorded with a potato," as some would say. Furthermore, these devices are typically not equipped with a microphone or speaker, making two-way conversations during an event simply impossible.

In places like squares, parking lots, and hallways where complete coverage without blind spots is absolutely essential, installing a panoramic camera is a no-brainer. A panoramic camera, as the name suggests, is a fixed camera that can cover a large area, making it an excellent alternative to the cumbersome installation of multiple cameras to cover a large area.

The Dahua Full-color Dual Lens 180° Panoramic PTZ & IPC devices meet all the requirements for an efficient security solution that can handle the aforementioned surveillance challenges. Let's see what they have to offer.

Seamless Stitching & Advanced Image Fusion Technology

The Dahua Full-color Dual Lens 180° Panoramic PTZ & IPC devices are equipped with dual sensors that deliver a 180-degree field of view. How do these cameras provide a single 180° panoramic image?

First, the right and left lenses capture an image. Then, using standardized image correction technology, the camera calculates the characteristic values of the left and right images to prevent distortion and pixel loss. Finally, Dahua's advanced pixel-level metadata algorithm enables smooth image stitching. The result: a smooth 180° wide-angle view of a large scene with just one camera!

Full-color Technology

For enhanced image performance, both the panoramic PTZ and IPC devices utilize Dahua's proprietary full-color technology. Each camera lens supports an F1.0 aperture to capture more light. Compared to an F1.6 aperture, the F1.0 aperture captures three times more light, resulting in a significantly brighter and clearer color image of the monitored scene, even in dark environments or at night. Furthermore, two warm lamps are placed under the lenses, which have less impact on human eyes and help reduce light pollution in the monitored area.

EPTZ

A cool feature of the panoramic IPC is EPTZ (electronic pan, tilt, and zoom), which uses digital zoom technology to provide true PTZ-like functionality on a fixed, non-PTZ camera. It offers a panoramic view for a wider view of the scene, as well as sub-views focused on a specific area or target. There are five different layouts, or modes. Each mode includes a wide-angle view that can include 1, 3, or 5 different sub-views for a more convenient monitoring experience.

Independent Mode and Smart Linkage Mode

For the panoramic PTZ camera, both the panoramic and detailed view modes support AI functions. Two cameras can be deployed independently in different directions to cover larger areas. Furthermore, the smart linkage mode can be integrated with IVS, allowing the panoramic camera to capture the entire scene, while the speed dome camera zooms in to record details when alarms are triggered, increasing the security of the monitored area.

Two-way Talk

This Dahua panoramic camera also features a built-in microphone and speaker that support two-way talk. When connected to the network, users can communicate via the camera anytime, anywhere. How convenient is that?

AI Features

These cameras wouldn't be complete without AI features. The Perimeter Protection uses a deep learning algorithm to accurately identify targets with high accuracy. It supports up to six different rules and can provide real-time alarms and push notifications via the mobile app. The IPC has a People Counting function that can accurately calculate real-time statistics of people entering and leaving a specified area, allowing timely dispersal measures to be taken to prevent overcrowding and traffic flow, as well as collecting valuable data that can aid in business analysis. It also includes Smart Motion Detection (SMD), which can accurately detect targets in the monitored scene by filtering out obstructive objects such as leaves, animals, headlights, etc.

Takeaway

Capturing the entire scene in a single color image is possible with just one camera. The Dahua Full-color Dual Lens 180° Panoramic PTZ & IPC devices serve as an intelligent solution that monitors a large area. Larger scenes can be continuously monitored with just one camera, saving installers and end users time and installation costs. Thanks to the built-in microphone and speaker, users can communicate with the detected target in the scene anytime, anywhere. And thanks to its full-color technology, this intelligent panoramic camera can provide clear color images, even at night, which is essential for 24/7 continuous monitoring in large application scenarios such as squares, corridors, and parking lots.
