Heldere En Levendige Kleurenbeelden, Zelfs Na Inzoomen? Met Dahua Full-color Netwerkcamera's Is Het Mogelijk!

Clear and vibrant color images, even after zooming in? Dahua full-color network cameras make it possible!

So far, we’ve covered a number of integrations of Dahua Full-color technology with other solutions such as TiOC and Panoramic technology . Continuing this year’s TechMonth line-up, this week we’re going to talk about optical zoom and how the integration with Dahua Full-color can optimize surveillance and benefit end-users. To enlighten us further on this matter, here’s Eaden Xie, Product Manager at Dahua Technology.

Hi Jan! Can you tell us what optical zoom is, and how it differs from regular digital zoom?

Sure. Optical zoom essentially refers to the camera mechanism that provides the zoom function, while digital zoom is provided by the software on the camera or recorder that enlarges the image. Optical zoom provides optimal image quality because it uses a pair of lenses to see from a distance. The lenses in the camera actually move to zoom in or out of the scene. Optical zoom focuses on the user's area of interest and captures clear details of the scene. Digital zoom only magnifies parts of an area, but the recorded video is still the original video, and the details after using digital zoom are not as clear as those captured with optical zoom. It goes without saying that optical zoom is much better than digital zoom and is highly recommended for any surveillance, especially for wider scenes and long distances.

What are the benefits of optical zoom cameras in surveillance?

First of all, cameras with optical zoom are easier to use and operate than conventional fixed-focal cameras. Users can flexibly adjust the camera's focus to their preference. There's no need to pre-measure the scene size or determine multiple installation points, which makes installation and use much easier.

How do Dahua Full-color network cameras use optical zoom to capture clear color images?

To display clear details of the monitored scene even after zooming in, the upgraded Dahua Full-color 2.0 network cameras utilize a motorized vari-focal lens with approximately 5x optical zoom and autofocus function. Powered by Dahua Full-color technology , these cameras can capture vivid color images of the scene, even in dark environments or at night. They offer 4MP resolution and a maximum illumination distance of 70 meters for the bullet camera and 40 meters for the dome camera. With its long-range illumination capability, the camera can capture clear, full-color images even from far away.

That's great! What application scenarios can we use these cameras for?

The Dahua full-color network cameras, with a 2.7-12mm motorized vari-focal lens (2.7-13.5mm for HAC) and F1.0 aperture, can cover narrow indoor spaces and wide outdoor scenarios, making them suitable for alleyways, riverbanks, and parking lots. A wide-angle lens essentially extends the horizontal range, ideal for indoor shooting. A telephoto lens, on the other hand, allows you to zoom in on a subject from afar.

Are Full-Color Network Cameras Equipped with AI Features?

Yes! These cameras are equipped with a range of AI functions that can meet actual user needs. They have People Counting with 8 lines and Queue Management with 4 lines. Other AI functions include Perimeter Protection, SMD 3.0, and AI Scheduling.

Finally, tell us more about the value these cameras provide to end users.

Well, besides the advantages I've mentioned, I think the flexibility to monitor wider scenes and greater distances is one of the most important advantages of these cameras. For fixed-focal-length cameras, users first need to determine the distance and installation points, and then select the appropriate camera later. With Dahua full-color network cameras with vari-focal lenses, users can instantly adjust the camera's focus to their actual scenario. With Dahua full-color technology, they can still capture clear color images after zooming in, even in low-light environments. It's more convenient, more affordable, provides optimal image quality, and can save users valuable time.

Up next…

Next week's topic is the integration of Dahua Full-color with 4K technology and how it delivers bright and vibrant color images, even in low-light environments. Don't miss it!
